In February, the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) announced upcoming changes to their certification program. In an effort to elevate the standards and training of pharmacy technicians, a variety of changes have been proposed, including mandatory drug and background checks, accredited education requirements, and what is accepted for Continuing Education (CE).
